Be sure to visit this wonderfully diverse city, and prepare to be surprised.
Scheveningen
A little ways to the north, you'll find the fishing village turned beach resort of Scheveningen. Scheveningen is still known as a true fishing village and brings in some of the best fish in the Netherlands. It is also home to the Pier, which is one of the area's most popular tourist attractions. This is where, every year on Vlaggetjesdag (Flag day), the fresh Hollandse Nieuwe herring catch comes in.
